My sister known as Winter
Is as beautiful as she is cold.
Her hair is silver-white like stars
And she lets her beauty unfold.
For during her short three month reign,
She shows us the gifts of her birth.
Winter sprinkles her lovely snowflakes
All about our Earth.
My sister known as Spring
Awakens like a sleeping child.
Unfolding her delicate hands
With blooms of color and leaves so mild.
During her short three month stay
Spring scatters her soft rainbow colors
Every which way.
My sister known as Summer
Is a playmate with the sun.
Hand in hand they laugh and sing
Dance around in meadows and run.
She makes the most of her months of three,
By staying up all night to romp with me.
My sister known as Autumn
Likes to whisper with the wind.
While weaving her intricate tapestries
Of a rust and golden blend.
She weaves and sings rapidly
For her time comes swiftly and goes,
And then my sister Autumn
Follows the wind that freely blows.
Four sisters, each one beautiful
Their time both precious and brief...
We view the Season Sisters
In snowflake, a flower, sunshine, and a golden leaf.
