Have you ever wondered what it must have been like to live in the biblical days when Christ walked the Earth he had created? Scholars walking around in the streets in their velvet robes, and satin linens. Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to meet up with the Disciples Matthew, Mark Luke or John, and Jesus' mother Mary?
I wonder what it would have been like to live back in the biblical days? It would have been very different then what we see in the world today. I have even imagined myself walking right beside Jesus, and touching him. I have often imagined seeing the healing that he did for the sick around him. I have also imagined what it must have been like to witness the crucifixion of our dear Savior. The sorrow that I would have felt in my heart seeing him beaten, mocked, and scourged. The pain my heart would have endured watching my Jesus go through such a horrendous death. To think of my Lord enduring this even though he was not guilty of any wrong doing, or any crime would make me realize just how much he truly loved me. He did this for you also!
That's right, he love's us so much, he was willing to endure this humiliation, pain, and even death so we would not be lost to sin, and suffer for all eternity in darkness. I cannot imagine living an eternal life without Jesus, could you?
The struggle Jesus felt in his heart
In the Garden as he lay praying on the ground
Praying for this cup to be taken from him
So he could stay, and love the lost he had found
Jesus prayed to his Father, in Heaven while sweating blood he cried
"Please Father don't forsake me please let my heart be still"
Then he prayed with urgent fever
"But I only wish to do your will"
The Disciple Judas sold his soul for 30 pieces of silver
To those who wished to persecute The Christ without reason
So with a kiss, he did reveal our humble Jesus to them
It was the time for all things new; it was the sacrifice season
They beat him, and they tortured him, not one fault within him found
He was guilty of nothing but love, only compassion for his fellow man
His teachings were of sound mind, a sound heart, from his Father up above
But yet they scourged him greatly within in his own precious land.
Christ suffered on the Cross that day, as his blood lay on the ground
He could have changed it all, by coming down from that piece of wood
But he did his Fathers will in Heaven, stayed nailed there for you & me
His blood was shed for all that day, because he knew he should
For the pain that he did suffer, was from his love for you, and I
We all sometimes take this for granted, when going about our busy day
Even though our hearts do tell us, that he did this for us all
So when you feel in the dark, and so alone, get on your knees, and pray.
