There are many passages in Gods Holy Word that refer to “Children”. He had much to say about these little ones. Children to God are a blessing. As I sat here researching out His Word for information about Children, I learned quite a lot about what these little ones mean to Him, and also realized what these little ones should mean to each, and everyone of us in this world.
In the Book of Mark alone there is much written there about Children. For instance in Mark Chapter 10 Verses 13-16 God sums it up well about children, and how he views these little ones.
In these verses God states “then they brought little children to Him that He might touch them, but the Disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw this he was greatly displeased, and said to them, ”Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; For of such is the kingdom of God“. “Assuredly, I say unto you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter in”. And He took the children up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
Other passages in the Book of Mark say more of these little miracles God sends to us. In Mark 9:36-37 it states: Jesus took a little child, and sat him in the midst of them, and when he had taken him in his arms He said “Whoever receives one of these little ones in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me, but Him who sent me (Meaning his father God)
Then Jesus goes on to say in Mark 9:42 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the Sea”. Boy howdy, that is most assuredly a wake up call on how we are to act towards children, and on how we are to treat them, and teach them.
There is a short but awesome passage in Psalm referring to the children, and it is very powerful and very heart warming to read. In Psalm 127:3 God simply states “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward“. Tell me that is not a powerful, and heart tugging statement from Jesus himself referring to the children!
To sum it all up, I just want to say that children are a blessing from God, and nobody should ever harm them in any way. Sure discipline is good when a child needs it, but for anyone to harm a child abusively, this is not of God, and should not be continued. Children cannot fight for themselves, they cannot defend themselves against harm, and they will physically, and emotionally be scarred for life, if treated in such a way.
Please pray for these children who are abused, and lift them up to the Lord for healing, and for a better life. Pray for their families, and for their abusers to seek God, and give their heart to Him now. If we all pray together for these children who may be abused, Prayer can move mountains, and save a child. Prayer is a powerful weapon, and God will hear if we will but only storm the gates of Heaven with our voices.
I dedicate this to all children; everywhere who have ever experienced abuse from a loved one, family member, or acquaintance. May God keep you safe from harm, and may He watch over you until He comes again.
Little broken bodies
Little eyes that weep
Little hands to hide behind
While they’re being beat
This is not how life should be
For Children we were given
For they have feelings deep inside
Little lives should be worth living
All they have seen is much abuse
No! This was not Gods plan
All just frightened little babies
Too small to make a stand
A child should never have to beg
For the love of Mom, and Dad
Children should be held with care
Not forced to live a life so sad
How can you look into those eyes?
How can you not know?
That even though you’ve hurt them
Their little hearts still love you so
Don’t be the hand that rocks the cradle
Be their every dream come true
The problem doesn’t lie with them
The problem lies with you
There is a way to beat this
I know where you can start
Get down on your bended knee
And ask God into your heart
Ask Him to forgive you
For all the harm you’ve done
To this child He gave to you
Then your battle will be won
God gave to you this precious blessing
So handle it this child with care
This little one is your best friend
With a lot of love to share.
