Lay Out Lay In

It's that time of year

When dusk

Seems to insist

Against open windows

And fingers feel cold.

It is the interim

Between -

When all is not

What it seemed

At mid day warm.

Lay out now

What you've stored away.

Lay in again

And more

Of what you'll

Wish for -

More than you anticipate -

For warm

For comfort,

For satisfaction,

And more important

For love

For tomorrow night

Comes frost.

Wise words on the coming of "winter." Symbolically meaningful. Thank you for this offering. Love and peace.
