He would gather all of summer's petals
and lay a path beneath her feet;
No thorn or stone would harm her

She sweeps the full arc
of the heavens
with the beam of her bright eyes,
bringing all the cosmic lights
together to thread amidst
his wild majestic mane;
He will be dazzling to behold

Looking on,
who can fathom the depths
of such a love
or such a union?
Softly swollen fleshly lips
feeding tearing jaw of ivory muzzle
anathema to the heart and mind

But their very souls are One;
Breathing the same air
they are of the Same Root,
the Shared Vine:
He the grapes of wrath
She the grapes of wine

Theirs is the Vintage
beyond our comprehension;
Sweet Elixir of Heaven
completely untasted
by those whose mirror-image
reflects back to them
only that which they already know

Whose Wells of Life
are from a single source
of their own making

Achingly beautiful write, my dear friend Kate!
I especially love this line:

"He the grapes of wrath...she the grapes of wine."
It has a subtle flow, yet a depth that raps one on the head
and opens the door of imaginings.

Kate, your natural poetic ability to transform a black and white canvass into a vivid colored timeless portrait, is a shining testament of your creative genius. This remarkable piece is absolutely striking, in both style and substance. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creations. Take care and be well.
