You guessed it - this follows on from Artist's Model(1)!
Am toying with the idea of doing a mini-sequence of these, on the theme of "in search of identity".
PS Race you to 2005... think I'll win if I'm, say, six hours' ahead?! :)) xx

ARTIST'S MODEL 2

She had been closed
Lost in deep darkness
Overwhelmed by pain's ocean
Undisturbed by time

In being made beautiful
she had become vulnerable
wide open
exposed

A single tear -
a grain of crystal sand -
birthed and trickled
from her eye's salt pool...

On his virgin canvas
in tones of light and shade
his watercolours released her:

A matchless pearl
perfectly formed
and flawless

A wondefully crafted poem. I do hope you continue with the "identity" theme.

I don't find it even mildly warm.

But a masterpiece has been created here.

Self realisation. At someone realising they are a butterfly, not a catapilla...

I feel and see this subject in my mind and long to watch as the artist like the writer unfolds her nature.

You capture this well Kate. I did a poem of the artist Titian's Girl,
half nude, from her point of view. It got a very good response. I think it's a fascinating topic. That's why I like to do challenges when it depicts art. I'm looking forward to more of these.Superb poem!

A matchless pearl formed and flawless. Well again I wonder about never have had posed nude. I posed once for an artist friend of mine. Don't know what happened to that picture.
