PAUL SAYS WE’RE ALRIGHT TONIGHT

Funny, our differing worlds –
you in yours, me in mine –
with just an “el” between:

one long tongue wrapped
round itself in knots;

one drawbridge raised
over a seemingly
breachless gulf;

one tall lighthouse
keeping dangerous vessels
safely at bay.

I gaze from my native
blue-green ball,
you stare
from distant red.

Much space between
but only words apart.

I love how in many of your poems/writings of the heart Kate, YOU write with a mystery and a slight whisk of knowing, and believing!
Paul said it right - That makes it so :)

Words can bridge the gap, whether simple or elegant ... but it is their reception that lowers the drawbridge. Well done, Kate!

between the space of words is the 'el'ation of their potential meaning ...

Oh that intense longing for soul-deep communication, Kate. I know it. I've experienced it. The false sense of safety in saying nothing and the distance created by "keeping dangerous vessels safely at bay." I can see how this write could speak to human to human communication or our relationship with the Almighty. Really good work!

that before? It's a small world after all, when you share the
right words. -gene.

A desire to be connected - which you are - love the delicious shivers of pleasure in,

"...one long tongue wrapped/round itself in knots...." yes. That is the way to be tongue-tied or occupied or something! LOL

Well done, my dear, as always. You leave me undone with the power of your words -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
