| I don't know why, and you'll have to excuse me for it, but your poem brought to mind a BBC comedy I just saw on American PBS where the old Brit gentleman and his French counterpart thoroughly enjoyed each other, and connected on a number of topics. Then as he turned away, the ancient Englishman mumbled out loud, "Bloody Frog." I guess this pops out of me because you employed humor here along with strong symbols of identity. I truly appreciate the intelligence that went into this creation, and I will be contemplating it for a while. Don't we have wonderful minds to make such connections?........Jerry |

| Getting cutesy with the wordage, my friend / You can stand as tall as the next one when it comes to your delightful, somber, insane, whatever poetry. You cannot be pigeonholed into any corner of the poetical landscape, you delve into the abstract as well as the grim and the NOW. Stand. Clap. Clap. Take a bow. Corny? Yeah. I don't care. Take another bow. |

Love the word play in this...
Your poetry made me think of France & of my excursion there a few years back with my daughter, Ahna. Which brought me full circle to think about what and who she is today... and reminded me that life is short, and full of unexpected surprises--not all of which are good. (Ahna is struggling with what may be serious health issues which are hopefully being diagnosed this week...but is 8 hours away from home.)
We dream of playing and living life to the fullest, but when confronted with those little unpleasant twists that life throws at us we learn to be thankful for the little blessings we have...that of just living and loving and family and friends.
Thanks for your perspective...
