Thank you for the storms
which bring the winds of discontent
for they draw me closer to you
and remind me of what is meant…

That in the natural event of things
you’re in control of it all
and in your protective arms I must be
to truly be sheltered from the fall.

But sometimes I foolishly forget
and run out into the storm
then I realize what I’ve done
and run back to you where it’s warm .

Where your love is never failing
and will shield me from the rain
and even in my foolishness
forgiveness I will gain.

Where the sunshine will once again
put warmth upon my face
and the storm will move along
leaving serenity in its place

Thank you for the storms
which remind me to see
that yours is the mighty hand
and that is where mine can always be.

Karen:

Experience teaches us that we don't know how much we can handle until we our faith is stretched beyond our calm.

Insight in poetry is what you have here--and a lesson for all to heed.
