By Laurie Conrad. Written for my meditation class students some years ago.

Prayer and Meditation

If we come from our own poor
hearts only, then we have
very little to give.

This is hard for us humans
to believe only because
we cannot know the immensity
and power and depth of the Love
God has for us - this Divine Love
is the very substratum of our universe.

It is more powerful than the sea
more brilliant than the stars -

This we cannot believe because
we know only our own small
hearts and small love which is so
filled with needs and the cares
of this world ...

There is a hidden ray of the
Divine, placed within our smaller
Hearts, if only we would seek it -
Christ Himself said: Heaven is within you -

Look within to find the Divine
Meeting of the Soul with God

or our hearts will perish,

and this generation, this race of humans

will have truly failed.

Prayer and meditation was written over 5 years ago. It is a timeless piece of poetry that talks about Christ and His words about Heaven. What a great poem - what a great view! JMD

your view of two of the same, one must meditate on prayer and within prayer one meditates, within both the divine source is attainable and one only has to find the source to ...understand the Light and the Power within .....it is for all those who have failed that can grasp this knowledge... enjoyed your thoughts within this meditative display of expression through poetry... love and peace, Art sun...

Good one - It is true Heaven is within - It starts here in each individual -'This generation, this race of people will have failed' Nope, don'think so - each will be judged by his own merit
