As the Wind Whispers Wise Secrets
Dear Son I want to say, As we sit in the desert mountain high, The cool, crisp breezy air and cool sun to our backs, You, my son, have no where to run or to fly.
You were so loving when you were 3, You spoke wise, empathetic words when you were five, And at ten you took the littler guys under your wing, But when you turned 12, you knew nothing but to connive.
As you hit 14, you wanted the world, The independence you sought was at a high price. My tearful words of advice fell upon deaf ears, As your misconstrue d infinite wisdom, Lead you astray to a life of pain and fears.
I pleaded for you, The Mama Bear, I was called. But my intervention was not my wisest move, Eventually your justice heard your beckoning call.
Now I must visit you is such a far place, No bars but only sagebrush, harsh weather, and distance, Keep you in your determined place, Away from society, away from all circumstance.
But it is a blessing, as I have now learned, That you have been held away for so long, Your body has become healthy, And slowly your mind and conscience grow strong.
I know internally that you crave to hang on To your previous life, But as you grow and learn under strict instruction each day, If you come out with new knowledge, there will be less strife.
Grow, my boy, into a fine, young man, With integrity that you missed learning, In your endless fight to become your own person, And become the man I know you can be.
Your potential is tremendous, Your spirit has the power to change worlds, With just your wise words, Of one who now knows.
I love you, my son. Remember; dont go chasing Waterfalls, Stick with the rivers and the lakes that youre used too, I know you are becoming a man, But dont forget the mother who always stood beside you!
I love you infinity x infinity Mom

Scott at four,
"Mommy, I love you more than you do",
"Nope, Scott, I love you more than that."
"No, Mommy, I don't agree (he talked like that),
I love you more than ice cream."
"Well Scott, I love you more than the sun and the moon,"
"I love you more than that" I reply in competition'.
"I love you infinity" I said knowing I had him whipped. Then I briefly explained that infinity was forever
Little Scott, once so wise responded with a twinkle in his eyes,
"But I love you infinity times infinity"
Oh so long since you last said those words!

Update:
Scotty was shot and killed....UNARMED...by police in a chase on November 8, 2009 when he was 23 years old. Our hearts weep, I miss him so much. His life was struggle, and now it is gone.

this is sad but a beautiful write.
I too have experienced this with a children
not only do they mess up their lives, but break their mothers heart. We love our children unconditonally, but who is always there no matter what but a "MOTHER." |

This had me in tears..So touching and heartfelt..A child going through such trials, fighting to fit, to be seen, and take the wrong path, is so very difficult and so very painful to watch. My heart and prayers go out to you both!!
*hug*
