Blue Memories

Blue on the morning sky

On the wind whisking by

On the shirt you left behind

And I hold it close

You filled my senses and made me long

To hold you with an inner song

Even now to return to days left behind

To the glistening of the morning tide

The glowing of the afternoon

All darkening with the moon

These days are seasons with you gone past

But in my memories vividly you will last

And that shirt you left hanging without care

I held it and touched you a brief moment there

Longing for the man within

Holding a second lasting in

To the blue evening sky

Blue eyes, the last thing I saw of my husband as he died. I can remember that day vividly Aug 17 07 and am glad I got to this poem 2 yrs too late. But you describe blue very well and it sticks with me and always will. I get blue but try to be positive and get into the yellow again.

O, Sharon--

For all who have lost a love
And yearn for a return that will not be,
We look to the shirt for a healing of soul
That our eyes will never see.

I've lost, Sharon. I feel your words in my heart.

As soon as I caught sight of the title of this moving moment of reflection, the melody of Blue Guitar started stirring in my mind - the atmosphere created by this song fitted with that of your heartfelt poem.

Beautiful feelings put into words, Sharon. You have captured the heartbreak of a lost love, but also that memories will vividly last.
