Ginger Snaps and Milk

Ginger Snaps with milk
Paul Harvey reads page two,
and "Would you like a
coke float?"
Kicking back, vacation view ...
solitaire on styrofoam,
Racko for the win,
and then a trip down by the lake
through the tall grass hoppers' din.
Home ground corn
and fresh picked beans,
table set each day the same,
Grandma's gentle, humble waiting
putting selfish folk to shame.
Then,
Granddaddy says the prayer
before we may begin ...
"We thank you Lord,
for what we are about to receive..."

Amen.

Just loved this. Reminds me of my own trips to Grandma's as a kid.
