Please don't throw me
in the fire;
spare my life
from freezing through.
All I've asked is living, loving,
giving good in all we do.

Keep my climes in temperate places;
keep my family in good grace.
Be not stingy, picky, sickly
pushy, cold or hard of face.

Cover not my head with hiding;
bare me not for all to see.
Treat my girls as fair and kindly
as the boys are seen to be.

Moderation, thou art worthy
of a many life lived well.
Make your dwelling always near me;
do keep me and mine from hell.

This is all anyone can ask, and you ask it beautifully. Great way to start a weekend.
