And I Thought of You

I opened my eyes
and remembered a sweet dream,
and I thought of you.

The picture on my
computer screen greeted me,
and I thought of you.

I took the necklace
and let it hang down my neck,
and I thought of you.

The leaves and flowers
fluttered down when the wind blew,
and I thought of you.

I was asked to read
the part of a girl's best friend,
and I thought of you.

They stood by the door
while smoking their cigarettes,
and I thought of you.

A bird sung its song
a whistle, high in a tree,
and I thought of you.

The radio sang
about the joys of this life,
and I thought of you.

The sun disappeared
the moon and the stars came out,
and I thought of you.
