London will Survive

Wherever, killing civilians is such a cowardly act.

The two fingers sign goes back to the hundred year war with France. The French got so annoyed with the success of the English archers, if they captured any the first thing they did was to cut off the archer’s two fingers he used to pull the bow. Thus the two finger sign became a sign of defiance, with Churchill he said it was a “V” for victory but I think deep down he was saying “up yours” to the Nazi's, just like in the past when the English archers two fingered the French.

For centuries there have been attacks on London
From plagues to the big fire of London
Causing misery and death to many of the population
But Londoners have always survived with distinction

The Nazi’s tried to blitz the capital into oblivion
Hitler’s Luftwaffe caused tremendous destruction
Even ‘V’ rockets he sent to destroy the Cockney Town
In the end it was Churchill’s V that sent Hitler down

The IRA too has set off their bombs
They tried to bring the old town down
On and on they were trying their best
Eventually learning London will stand fast

Today we have had these religious fanatics
Trying to destroy a way of life with their antics
Again the civilians take the brunt of their action
Damage to the Old Town there will be restoration

Please give a thought for those killed and injured
Their families will be in shock with this terrorism
The perpetrators do not seem to have learned from the past
Wherever, killing civilians is such a cowardly act

I had first saw what had happened when working around 3pm our time and I knew that London would survive as they have so many times before, just as you said, I had thought about Germany bombing the heck out of the city in WW2...My only worry was for you and your family, hoping against hope you and the family are well and did not suffer any ill effects other than being upset over this act of insanity...Keep strong Great Britain, at least everyone I have talked to is behind you 100% and more...Ed

It takes a coward to pull off such an act. My prayers are with Britian and its people. I just learnt of this after getting off work.

On the bright side.......these terrible acts are bringing the world closer togeter to rid itself of such trash.

Reg, A great tribute to the strength of your countrymen! Well said! My thoughts and prayers are with you, and all in the UK...May we stay united to defeat the cowards that are trying to separate and defeat us. They will never win!
