A whimsical journey...

I’ve often been told

simple pleasures are best…

Like an ermine soft kitten

that purrs in my ear…

A crystalline pool

on a hot summer day…

A mockingbird’s song

as the sun melts to dusk…

Toasty thick socks

warming popsicle toes…

A dinner that’s shared

with long absent friends,

A chocolate chip cookie

that's been dipped in cold milk…

The sweet scent of jasmine

growing in my backyard…

Best of all snuggling in

your strong loving arms,

It’s your love, it’s your touch,

in their own simple way

that completes me,

and fills up my heart.

Though your pen is one of "Simple" pleasures, it delivers the complexity of desires that life at times moves too fast for people to enjoy. This is definately a "Stop and smell the Roses" pen. Well done.

All the delights of life are somehow connected - somehow kin to each other. Never before have I seen this so eloquently and delightfully depicted in a poem!
