This is a small token of thanks, to all the wonderful authors on AD, to all of you who have given constantly without receiving, those of you who have touched my heart with the kindness of your words. It's greatly appreciated, I feel honoured to be a member of this very loving and supportive community.

I take this opportunity to wish you a year full of happiness and joy. May 2006 be filled with devine blessings that you may hold, cherish and enjoy.

Warm hugs to all
Elga

The whole worth of a kind deed lies in the love that inspires it.

To You Who Cared Enough

With a click of a button as I open a page
Soft silent tears slowly engage
Not tears of frustration,
Nor of deception they are
But tears of pure joy
The sense of belonging

The warmth and encouragement
That so freely abounds
The care and concern
My heart it astounds

There once was a time
When I’d give as received
Then life took a turn
Silently I grieved

That joy that I’d felt
The happiness I’d known
The profound sense of being
But now alone

Togetherness I’d shared
Turned into sorrow
Raging heartache within
Would there be a tomorrow?

The journey’s been long
Though not quite over yet
And the weariness of spirit
One can’t fully forget

My thanks and my gratitude
In abundance is given
To you who cared enough
By you I was driven

I give to you each,
From my heart; a rose
And once again thank you
To you... much is owed.

A lyrical and beautiful poem. "Weariness of spirit"... A commitment, a conviction is the underlying message of your poems. Especially the looking at the fragility of a human being.

You are welcome. There truly is a sense of belonging and togetherness here. Perhaps emotionally, writers are more needy than some people in other professions? The words of encouragement and understanding do help inspire.
