For where no hope is left, is left no fear.
John Milton (1608–1674)
|
|
When a heart is dying,
And tears bleed silently
Away from prying eyes
In the darkest hours…
When loneliness greets you
Like the midday heat
Sapping your very essence
Leaving your soul depleted
Your heart desiccated
Eyes bleak lacking vitality
Face gaunt and expressionless
Laying motionless
Encouraging vultures to flock
They search the finest pickings.
You’re already so cadaverous!
Is there enough left?
Always enough for scavengers!
Devoid of any real emotion
Discomfort no longer troublesome
And finality… a welcome guest!

| A brooding write, Elga, haunting and evocative of darkness and death; and excellent. Who ever said wonderful writing had to be about beauty and love? Well done. Peace. |

| I haven't read you for a bit, Elga, and I'm glad I dropped in for this one. Provocative, evocative, and well-crafted. ~~Nordette |

This is a dark and uncomforatble piece Elga, exceptionally well written, the imagery the last stanza conjours is powerful and very sad. Hope your well.

Elga,
I hope you're okay...darkness and deep pain in your powerfully imaged lines. You're in my prayers.
