Your Ardour

And by her yielded, by him best received,
Yielded with coy submission, modest pride,
And sweet reluctant amorous delay.

John Milton (1608–1674)

 Your Ardour

Take my hand draw me close
As I slowly breathe you in
Savouring your desirous scent
I inhale you through every pore
Taste you within every membrane
Touch your passionate warmth
Feel you voice tempt my soul
As your desire titillates my heart
You lure me into your ardour
And seduce my mind with your words
As I hunger for your sensual touch
Your hands caress my sensations
I feed on your look of passion
Aspiring to the satiation
Of our ardent and fervent needs

I enjoyed the subtleness of this piece Elga, your fine wordstrokes thrusting and moving up and down through the valleys and peaks of a mysterious process that continues to ebb and flow but is never fully quenched or, as you put it, satiated. The last word "needs" assuredly leaves one elevated in a place where we know that love, and the making of it, is always unfolding and never really completely satisfied. Thank-you

Wonderfully conveyed sensuality, Elga.

a very warm and effective love poem, well penned as usual Lady Elga.

I feel such joy, yet a lack, Elga, within your words. Or, I feel fully satiated...

I like to read 'first lines' of poems, to see the interior stucture, or the last lines, as it were. All lines in this piece lead to passion, yet, the words 'aspiring' tells me much, or, does it?

Always, though, I bathe in your emotion-seductive wordsmithing.
