This Desert has
dreams n' tears
Born in the splash
of night
pewter moon,
fogs light~

Its the poetry of
sandstone n' sage
winter wind,
thirst and delight~

And the shadow
of alone
larger than that
of two~

So within
the humid soul
spring n' spirit,
trickle of life
I breathe this night
the scent of frens~

~~mlh~~

Do these hold a promise of a renewed friendship?

Ferns has always been in the closeness of man but very few even discover them and even fewer will recognize their scent - you have felt it and so have I. Your words are so linked to your pictures.

Now, I've been known to howl at the full moon out in the desert-- after imbibing a bit of tequila... must be all that sandstone, sage and winter wind.
Love this captivating write, Martin.

Reads as if the poet's pen was filled with blood from the desert's own soul. An exceptonal write.

Such a beautiful, precious gift this prose and photo. So inviting like pristine snow that if ferns weren't so delicate, I would want to jump right on and make angel wings. Gloria

Exquisite word images - brought tears of longing for smells of rich humus that ferns thrive on. Spoken truth of life as a mix of dreams and tears. Ferns nicely textured in B/W - luminous with moon glow?
Nice offering.

I imagine the ferns of night and the gentle rub of one frond upon another and the gentle smell occurs as fairies awaken.
Beautiful imagery ~ Marty!~
