The story never told
by Linda Grover

This is a biography about an abusive childhood, which led me to want to become a foster parent, so that I would be able to help other abused children...

9-11: Solitary Soul

I can't get the image of that lone silent man, falling to his death that day. I like to think maybe angels saw him safe...home.

Amid the flames and screams of the dying,

Wrapped in an immense and silent dignity,

A lone man falls…

Hands tucked neatly at his side,

Tie flapping gently,

As he plummets upside down.

An eerie quiet surrounds his flight,

Perhaps….

Savage death was cheated of one small victory

When angels, flying point

Gathered his graceful body before he landed, and carried him home.

In all that pain and terror

A message of hope and redemption.

Embedded in that single image

Of a silent man,

Falling… alone.

A powerful write. I think whatever happened that he didn't feel the pain, for he probably had died instantly, and didn't even know he died. The angels had gathered his soul half way through the fall.

(((candida)))

once again, you've painted strong imagery with your powerful pen...that image haunts me still...but this one image has a much nicer ending. i only wish it were true...for all of them that were forced to choose the manner of their death *tears*

and then those who died trying--succeeding--in saving others, our brave heroes *tears*

(((HUGS))) and love, karla.

thank you for remembering

I can't get that image out of my head either; what choice did he have? Burn to death, or jump? A decision I don't think I could make! Heartwrenching; may we never forget!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears <
