This happened last night.. It moved me so profoundly, I had to share the pain and joy.
I've known Pappa Nick since I was 17 years old, and loved him with all my heart.
I will miss you Nicholas, Pooh, more than mere words can ever say.
In midnight's stillness you came to me,
And I knew..
you were gone,
down time's quiet halls to Heaven's gates.
I saw your newly young and cocky face smiling at me.
Through my tears
I reached for you
one last time.
You whispered your loving acceptance,
promising to stand guardian,
'til your pajaro's ready to come home,
beyond time and sorrow.
All the loving spirits of my dead then came..
to remind this child's heart
that she is well and truly loved...
a precious gift of grace and joy.
The gathering of those who have gone ahead
lit the sterile dark with heaven's own light,
as my soul wept with the bittersweet pain
of love and longing.

|The writing here is very comforting to anyone who has lost someone I think. The words wrap themselves around my heart and give me hope and strength in my beliefs about what lies beyond also.
