A Mothers Love

A child never loses the hunger for a mothers love...

What did you see

as you gazed in the mirror?

Perfumed and painted for your nights on the town?

Who did you see when you looked at your child

and told her you hated the moment of her birth?

which demon lurked in the recesses of your mind

to haunt you this way?

Who were you striking when you beat her....

a tiny child

who loved you?

What shriveled your cold cold heart so...

that you could not see

the face of love and longing

That hungering little heart

gazing back at you

Did you drink so deeply of the bitterness in life

your mind embracing the pain

that you denied yourself

the love

your child tried giving you so freely

You tried creating another you..

a creature of anger and hate

Barren of love and compassion

Guess again...

You failed..

So honest, truthful and blunt. Loved every word.

You wrote my childhood in so few, excellently strung echoes, Candida: a passage of life vowed to be changed, to be risen above, and I did. But, as you say, we neve lose the hunger. My mother has been dead for over 18 years, yet there are times when I find myself wanting to call her, tell her of an exciting event in my life: not that she would have been impressed but I always hoped she would be touched. Visit me some time.

Love in Christ~~
