Beautiful Disaster

I wrote this for my oldest daughter, whom we've recently discovered is bi-polar among other things.

 secrets reside in your eyes
worlds I'll never dare to see
but will you stay locked in your mind
or choose to stay here with me?

you're a beautiful disaster
you're a stranger at my door
a sweet enigma, dark melody
you're meant for something more

I know your rage, taste your pain
cold and sick with your dread
I can't seem to understand why
it always rains in your head

you're a beautiful disaster
you're a stranger in my eyes
why can't you say what you feel?
can't you give voice to your cries?

your blue eyes are void to me
never seen a soul seem so hollow
but I know that spark of light
if only I could tempt you to follow

you're a beautiful disaster
I won't let you stay a stranger to me
you're a puzzle, but the pieces fit
and soon it'll be you I see

Danielle,

An amazing write of love for your daughter: you might not understand, but you accept her, love her for whom she is: well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Your devotion and love for your sister shines through and though bi polar is a dreadful thing she will treasure your support.

Danielle,

Your love shines through in every line as do your concerns. Have you had a second opinion. I read an article where bi-polar in children is very often mis-diagnosed. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers and keep my fingers crossed.
