Advice...why not?

So the weight of the world
bears down upon your shoulders
all the strife, grief, failures and hurts
settle upon your heart like boulders.

Well, I'm here to tell you
it's OK to cast aside the burden
for a moment or two
you can take time out to enjoy being you!

And if you are a poet
and I may be so silly
it's also OK to write about
a Southern lover named Joe-Billy.

Not every expression of emotion
need be a call to conscience..
So have a go at it right now,
you'll feel better soon -
somehow!

PS: These seedy pearls of wisdom
I wrote with celestial guidance,
obeying my horoscope today, and forgetting all about Freudance. :)))

Absolutely! Fun for the sake of fun, and what better than word play! I'm sure Atlas, like all of us, must at times shrug and stretch before resuming his burdens.

You are so right, I like this little ditty. In the title did you mean Atlas, or Alas, or at last??? Just curious. Maybe you're doing exactly as the poem says and tossing caution to the wind. :)

Seedy pearls of wisdom?? Oh, yes, that could be a relevant description if one examines the piece carefully to find the underlying message -a mesage capable of producing SEEDS, in this case another word for "food for thought"! Well expressed, Gina, in deceptively simple language and a pointer as to how to lighten the burdens od daily existence.

Oh, but they are words that are most welcome today. Wisdom to see that we need light and laughter to escape now and then. I will take this to heart.

Terrific write, (((((Regina)))))

You have written truth here, and coated it with sweet humor.
Excellent job.

From reading the title, I saw the image of a man carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders the way things are today. Frightening, isn't it? A few too many people nowadays need to heed your advice. Great work.
