For my brother, Jason...who has been 'lost' for years.
I hope that one day, someone finds you, Jason.
And I sincerely hope that 'someone' is YOU!
Update: My brother, Jason Anthony Kaye, was murdered on January 23rd, 2006.
In memory of Jason...
I pray you have finally found the peace you've been searching for.
All my love,
your sister Cheryl

This particular poem was actually written for a woman I barely knew, whom one night I was 'led' to phone. (She went to our church and we needed help organizing something.)
During my phone call I realized immediately that this woman was extremely depressed, and within minutes she poured her heart out to me. Her teenage son was on the streets, making unwise choices and she never saw him.
At the precise moment I called her... she was going to take her own life.
I talked to her for 2 hours and when she showed up in church two days later, I was so relieved!
After church she gave me a Guardian Angel pin...and told me that I had saved her...that I was her Guardian Angel.
Many years later, my own brother, Jason, chose to take the difficult road, to live a life of alcohol, crime and homelessness. We rarely see him.
When I posted "Hope For the Lost Child" here on AD, I realized how ironic it was that I had written this poem years before my own brother's 'disappearance', and that it applied directly to him...so here I have dedicated this poem to my brother, Jason.
To all the lost 'Jasons' in the world... May you be found! ~CKT
When your child goes astray, Shuts his heart and turns away From those who truly love his soul ~ Only God can make him whole.
Time and Patience heals all pain, So you can learn to love again, The wandering child ~ alone yet not, Because your Love can melt his heart.
He cannot truly turn away, God finds lost sheep every day; He's never really all alone ~ God has claimed him for His own.
Raise your child, then give him wings, Love him while an Angel sings, Love him when he's lost his way, Have faith that he'll return some day.
Forgive him when his life's gone wild; There's always Hope for the lost child!

My mother's heart, too, has been tested, and I know only that we must never give up, never, on our children. It may take years. It may take all our strength and test our endurance, but our children must have our belief in them if they are to make it through this world, so tough on youth.
Thank you for your post.

This captured the phone call, and I hope the woman in the topic had a chance to see this, and learn how to be stronger because of what you've penned.

Teenage years are the worst years to some. Without the parents' and the adults' understanding, it could be deadly. I sincerely hope Jason will come home very soon.
I will pray for his safety and his return.
A much needed poem, many can relate to this one. Thank you for sharing.
