Suprised was I to not be shunned
but chosen as the trusted one
to hide the darkness from the sun
that question yet unanswered

I found my strength in dying breaths
of passing life and secrets kept
the burden of a last request
so fragile life unreckoned

Perhaps its meant that I not know
but take to task this line I tow
and though I cry it will not show
I'll hold myself unbroken

Hello Edwin,
This is a Very Heavy Write...I can feel the weight of it as if it were my own...I very much enjoyed this read

Strong emotions kept hidden, now suddenly to be freed, well said...

Be always safe,

Very nicely done Edwin, wise and intense and with deep reflection or so it seems.
