Just some lyrics to a song I was working out on the piano

Vendors on the strand
shutter up the stores
while out across the sand
the music echoes

They cast themselves to fate
waiting for that wave
that will carry them away
to their salvation

Breathing in the night
beneath an empty sky
Following the light
just where it takes me

Swimming back on through
all those thoughts of me and you
and the things that I did do
to set us both free

Oh the night is real
Life is easier it seems
Yeah thats what I feel
Easier than living
in someone else's dreams

Up and down the shore
the crowds have dissappeared
No sounds of wanting more
the ocean echoes

There's nothing left to bleed
You cut yourself in need
and fed upon the seeds
of your frustration

Swallowing the stars
you buried all the scars
reaching in so far
that you just couldn't see

Trying so hard to tame
put neatly into frame
the ember of a flame
that once burned brightly

Yeah the night is real
but life is easier it seems
Thats just how I feel
Easier than living
in someone else's dreams

Breathing in the night
beneath an empty sky
Following the light
just where it takes me

Yeah the night is real
life is easier it seems
Thats just what I feel
Easier than living
in someone else's dreams

Yeah the night is real

Damn! This was good. Could go either way / Rock or Country / Really like the last verse which repeats, can't think of what that is called. Very good.

Wonderful lyrics in a lovely lyric poem. I especially like the use of the vernacular.

Sounds and reads like catchy lyrics to me...I could almost hear the tune coming through...in my mind a sort of Billy Joel up and down tempo...love to hear the finished product.

Captivating lyricx Edwin! I'd love to hear it;-) Your song speaks to today's culture where it seems people prefer to be alone than to assume a position under someone else's dreams. Even when in love...ET

I've been listening to you sing this while you play your piano and wish that others could hear it. Perhaps you should record it. The lyrics are beautiful when read but even more so when sung by you. You're such a gifted musician and I'm proud to call you mine. :)
