The first of 12 animal poems

Dear relative high up in the trees

Clinging gently between his knees

Facial similarity to many friends

May you live in safety outwith pens.

But loving primate forgive our sins

We have threatened you for our whims

To take your land and eat your flesh

No Never again is my heartfelt wish.
