A short poem ... about ... writing a poem!

Gift?

A few have said,
I have a gift.
I beg to disagree,
No one knows,
How hard it's for me.

So many thoughts,
Run through the mind.
Can't always write down,
Forget half that I find.

Write some down,
Walk away -
Thats all I can do today.
Go to bed,
Try to remember,
All that my mind said.

Fresh thoughts emerge,
On a new day.
A little clearer picture,
Of what I want to say.

Persistance, discipline,
Not a gift.
More like an obession.
Not always fun,
wonder -
Will you understand when done?
