Tomorrow is my granddaughter's third birthday. Over two and a half years ago we prayed for her life. She needed a liver to live. She was placed on the national waiting list and we began our wait. On a cool September morning, we got a phone call from Jaycie's Mom. She was all excited and all she could say was "We got a liver!" That night Jaycie began a new life. To see her now you would never believe how sick of a little girl she was. God Willing, Jaycie and her liver, will grow together in physical health and spiritual wealth...

Sometimes… I take for granted
how blessed I’ve been
for you little girl…
I’ll tell your story
as best I can
I held you on your first day
so small and fragile…
you stole my heart away

I dreamed of happy times together
but those early days…
were filled with grey clouds…
in constant stormy weather
more time spent in hospitals
then at home…
could you feel everyone’s love
you were never alone

On a waiting list you were placed
we all prayed…
for God’s healing Grace
our prayers were answered
quicker then we believed
with a new liver…
a chance for life was received

As rambunctious and hyper as you get
it’s your medicine we can’t forget
you seem to know those pills
keep you alive
you’re a lil’ trooper
you take it all in stride

It’s hard to look into the future
without remembering the past
it seems like a lifetime ago
you’re growing so fast
I wish for you a life of good health
surrounded by love and
spiritual wealth

Happy Birthday to my little Jaycie
hard to believe tomorrow…
you’ll be three
no matter how big you get
or how old you are
you’ll always be…
small and fragile to me
