Poppy’s Girl

She’s a princess in pink lifting arms up to me

She takes my love and loves me back so unselfishly

She trusts me and knows that I’m a real soft touch

She’s just poppy’s little girl and I love her so much

She’s giggles and gurgles and scrunches her nose

She’s got wobbly legs and sucks on her toes

She got big bright blue eyes that take control of me

She makes funny noises and entertains me for free

She’s got bumps and bruises she knows Poppy can cure

She thinks my kiss and my hugs are a fix all for sure

She’s got the halo of an angel’s when she’s fast asleep

Sometimes such perfect beauty makes this grown man weep

She knows when you take off her diaper to pee like the rain

Then she’ll spit up her milk just when you change her again

She falls asleep with her head laid down on my lap

What better place then poppy’s when it’s time for a nap

Only a grandfather's love could open up the channel for such a tender and love-filled poem. This is so beautiful, "Poppy". This is one of those treasures that your grandchild will keep forever.
Much love and respect,
CJ
