Thanks to my good Friend Karen for providing the story and title behind this one...

Age is Just A Number,

But Memories Are Forever

By: Felix L. Perry

The lady on the bus and I

Started to talk to pass the time away

She said you know son I’m almost seventy

My, my how time does slip away

I raised a good family with my husband

Next week will be our anniversary

Thirty years of sweet true love together

I’m thankful for each happy memory

Oh we had our share of bad times too

Sickness, death and even poverty for sure

We always held onto each other though

Side by side we stood and tried once more

Now the years and my age are catching up

Son, do not think I am trying to be clever

But you hold onto good and bad real tight

Age is just a number but memories are forever

Dear Felix,
YES!!! Age is just a number but memories are forever. Some we wish we could erase but many sustain us in those last years. A truly inspired write.

The good part about memories is that we never reach a point where we can't add to them.
And then we get to recall them, on demand.
Beautiful choice of words and visions here Felix.

Oh yes! Love it! Reminds me of my "Timeless" write, about age rings being like the lines of our fingerprints - constant, in other words. Reckon you'll always be Peter Pan, Pops.. but, alas the fairy dust has already turned into a broomstick for some of us... :)) LOL Wendy Darling xx

Lots of hidden meaning and wisdom in this one, Felix. Much food for thought. It brought a smile to my lips, but at the same time, a teardrop to my heart, touching many of my emotions. I loved it! Love, Leah

You put the idea down on paper really well. If we all would live each day to the fullest, there would be more memories to pass along to our children and grand children. And yes, age is just a number, but memories are forever. Very, very good. Karen

I keep trying to convince myself as the numbers rise.
that's just me,. I've seen many others older still
feeling and looking ten years younger than I am.
great piece and subject too.

Dear Felix,

Well written, isn't it so strange though, as we "mature" we like to fool ourselves and think of them as only "numbers" ;) how long can we fool ourselves? :(
