Aye...that is the old highland man himself...Fee McPerry...

Come Away With Me To The Highlands Lass

Will ye not come away with me to the highlands lass?

Where the heather dewdrops lay like tears

A place where lads and lassies have frolicked

Been that way for o’er a thousand years

Will ye not hear the drone of bagpipes lass

As the sun on Lock Lomond begins to set

The pipes that called the rising of the clans

To so many battles no man shall ne’er forget

Will ye make love to me on the wild moor lass

As we gather peat moss for our fire at night

Aye, ‘twould be a grand day indeed my lass

To lay us down in bed and hold each other tight

Will you come away with me to the highlands lass?

To be the last sight that my eyes may ever see

“Tis  on the highlands I would die contented

The purple heather, the highlands and thee…
