Sixteen years old

and crazy

skateboarding too fast down the hill

toward the beach on Vanderbilt lane

on a cold monday morning

in early april

the pouring rain

ran down through my hair

onto my shoulders and back

and chilled me to the bone

I've never felt more alive.
