And So the Blue
Then, a suburban girl,
a front counter drugstore clerk.
You were older, bold and wild.
And when your father hit you,
you'd smile,
and lift your chin a little higher.
I loved your defiance.
The Ct. River led us.
Its' silent banks,
Its' water roads,
Bathing our feet
In its' cool, forgiving flow.
And so the blue,
And so the green,
And so the crickets,
And so the evening,
Soft as dream.

Wonderful writing in this tale of one who is strong of nature...
Be always safe,

Kathy, each word and phrase here counts, the spareness of the telling making the greater impact, a finer picture.
