Night Dive
Plunging through darkness,
predawn,
seamlessly I float
through shadows,
passing locked doors
of strangers' homes,
past strangers' cars,
and packed barrels,
curbside.
This rare dive
a moment's glide
beyond interiors
of daylit walls,
where light pours
through every window,
falling on plants
whose large leaves
wave me
to stay.

Brought a smile to my face at the end, Kathleen. Lovely. The interaction of placing the first verse into the second flows as smoothly as its ending.
Plunging through darkness,
This rare dive
predawn,
a moment's glide
seamlessly I float...
