I wrote this poem a year ago to my fiancée, Thomas Lanechanger, for his birthday. He was honored and felt the poem should be shared, so he had posted it on his site here at AD. I am now posting it on my site in honor of Thomas's birthday.

Dear Tom,
"My Precious Gifts" to you are not only for your birthday, but what I continue to give from my heart and soul ...yesterday, today, tomorrow ...always and forever. These gifts are constant, as is our love for each other, and continue to grow more precious with time.

My Precious Gifts
My Dear Tom, you know how I Love You so,
Of my life, you are an important part.
Our love can only continue to grow,
I want you to know, I give you my Heart.
Be assured that I will always be true ,
And my love for you, is without condition.
I am here to proudly walk beside you,
Or to step back, to give you Recognition.
From me, you will never need to take cover,
Or put any of your feelings on a shelf.
I will share your passion, and be your lover,
To quench your desires, I give you Myself.
I will share your laughter and your tears,
And hold you if you should stumble or slip.
In me you can confide all your fears,
I will not judge, only give true Friendship.
If ever someone tries to attack you,
Use me as your shield, I will be your fort.
Whatever it is that you choose to do,
I’ll help all I can, I give you Support.
Together we will continue to thrive,
But there’ll be times that will surely take a toll.
I know through anything, we can survive,
You are in all my prayers, I give you my Soul.
Whether you would like to have a long talk,
Or embrace and enjoy love’s silent splendor.
Hand in hand, we can share a peaceful walk.
Oh, Sweetheart, I give you My Love, so tender.
Our Spirits unite, for long past the days of this Earth.
Until the end of time, we’ll share our life of bliss,
And today, as we celebrate the day of your birth,
All of these to You, My Love, are My Precious Gifts!
