~ Serenity ~

As I sit here at the table
 gathering my thoughts
I look out at a beautiful night
thick with stars
hanging low and bright
over a river
appearing as a faint silver thread
winding its way
through the dark
The moon was the narrowest
of silver silvers overhead
a pale smear on the night
blinking coyly down
playing hide and seek
behind a screen of shifting clouds
In front of me a candle’s glow
 sifting and dancing
over the wooden table
where my coffee cup sat
The flickering candlelight
casting my shadow behind me
 to drift upon a breeze
as tranquility settled around me
both inside and out

Serenity...painted like a tender silence among soft shadows without fears and time tiptoing away, going slowly, as no to spoil a peaceful moment.

Carole you transported me with this write to your own special little sanctuary and it seems heavenly. I can almost picture me walking thru the door with a couple of wine glasses and a nice Merlot to sit down and spend the evenin swapping poetry and stories. Very enticing image you created of a lovely evening in time.
