| Beautiful proposition and transition here, Carole. The rhythm of your writing follows the course of your thoughts and indeed this poem breathes easy and lightly. You have captured this ambiguous conscious state vividly and so clealy. It's certainly not an easy one to define, but you have taken us there so that we can almost experience while yet being fully awake! Love your conclusion, too. TY Kate xx |

| the subconscious is an integral friend and foe of obscurity -- both judge and jury if you will -- so that when dawn is imminent, reality attacks our senses, seeking out the surreal in spasmodic fits of welcome and denial -- dawn is a beautiful experience, albeit profusely complicated -- as you beautifully proclaim, "a slippery landscape" -- until at last, we succomb to the grip of ambiguity -- "then dawn arrives" -- and we relinquish the rites of nocturnal bliss -- yes Carole, I love the way you have captured this daily experience -- peace and love my dear friend -- Jon Michael |

Carole, how absolutely lovely. Your command of words and your knowledge of where and how to use them is wonderful. A truly "dreamy" poem.
