O Arab Land

My veins are burning

With every look of my eyes

I am greeting

Your dawn

O land of my fathers

Mother

Of civilisation

My awakening fire

Surges into

Your soul

To give birth to new stars

On a heaven renewed

My life and my death are

The sighs of your longing

On the day your love calls me

I am your

Sacrifice

An old song is my heart, reborn

Sparrow and falcon

And sea gull

Martyr and lover of

Life

I am one with those who have seen

The truth beyond any word,

One of those who have risen

With love alone for their sword

O how easy to give one's blood

To heal the wounds of the lover!

O how easy to nourish

The starving land with my flood

With blood and soul

With life and longing

I am reborn in your rebirth

I am your pain

I am your morning

I am earth

Of your earth

These are fine verses, Mahdi; meaningful and most apt and timely as well. Thank you for sharing them. Love and peace to you,

Regis
