The silk-bound book of your journey

fell smoking upon the table of my heart.

Just like that.

The jigsaw puzzle of my yearnings for you

tattooed a jade hieroglyphic upon your breast.

Just like that.

What am I doing

wandering naked through the forest

of your illuminated pages,

blood-wrestling with angels

and shadow-dancing with demons?

Why is your heart nailing portraits of sorrow

against the crystal walls of my soul?

All decked out in the myth of Shebaís beauty

and sporting the crown

of your lifeís splendid unfoldment

you drink the champagne of creation

like an empress reborn to her throne.

Why is my soul chiseling statues of tears

inside the secret valleys of your smile?

Just like that: blind drunk on the wine of your eyes.

Just like that: torched by the sizzle of love without disguise.

Just like that: an epic and a vision locked inside heavenís command.

Aberjhani,
I think I got to the first, 'Just like that' before I realized I needed to start over and catch my breath. It was there when the impact of your words took my breath away. I knew from that point on, I was in for quite the treat.
I was. And I enjoyed every bite.
Amazing write.

After careful analysis of this lovely poem, its mix of beautiful, unique poetic language with the simple phrase "just like that," and its list of intriguing questions that indicate the speaker's confusion, I have determined that aside from the obvious (you have a standard Aberjhani wonder), this piece boils down to one phrase: "blind drunk." Romantic love is blind and while in it you're as irrational as the town drunk. Put some clothes on, people, and stop stumbling through the forest naked. Or is this poem about something else? Words can be so tricky. :-) I am curious about the word "jade." The word can have anything from spiritual connotations to implications of an adulterous woman. The latter would explain why the speaker doesn't just go to his love and stop asking so many questions. But then that would make "A Jade Hieroglyphic" = "The Scarlet Letter" Certainly, your poem offers food for thought. I have to ask is this from your novel?

EdK said it! Reminds me of the classic "Casablanca" moves, only unique as a Moroccan box of tricks! As usual, lines, concepts and imagery to die for - especially like in this instance: "Why is my soul chiseling statues of tears inside the secret valleys of your smile?"... this melts me like an ice sculpture, Aberjhani! A most wonderful romantic journey which I look forward to seeing continued... TY LOL Kate xx

It seems as though you have been waiting patiently for her for a very long time. She stepped forward and your heart recognized its mate by the echo of the sound of its rhythm beating in harmony with hers. Such blessings rain upon those who recognize the one who is the extension of self. Eloquent poetry, Aberjhani, with a message that pulses eternal within each of us.
Take care,
