I recently had the distinct pleasure of reading Richard Orey's work. He is a resident author in this den.
IMO, He is a truly gifted poet. 'In the Silence of the Moment' was inspired by his wonderfully touching poem- Be Still and Hear my Voice. I was really moved by it.
I read your poem and shed a tear; it brought back memories past pain and suffering stilled my voice and brought me to my knees it brought me so much comfort; your poetry spoke to me for what you manifested, dear Richard, has surely happened to me. Amidst the consternation, confusion, and calamity Bumper to bumper on life’s highway I felt lost quite hopelessly My faith had hit rock bottom and my spirit felt so empty I didn’t know where I was going or the purpose of my journey I was desperately looking for answers; I was trying to find my destiny So I stopped just for a moment and tuned in to God’s frequency In the silence of that moment His message came through quite clearly He showed me my true purpose; His precious love enveloped me In the silence of the moment His voice called out to me Now I am living my true purpose; now I know my destiny In the silence of the moment I listened as His voice spoke to me

Overcoming unbelievable obstacles in life, her faith and her accomplishments--including a standing ovation at her poetry recital at Vassar College--bear testimony to God's presence in this world. In the Silence of the Moment sheds some light on this extraordinary woman and her faith.
