Two caves embrace a single life
A stable for birth, a tomb for death
Softened by hay, for the miracle's way
Guarded by stone, when the day was done.
Two caves on Earth, for life, for breath…
The stable of stone and the tomb.

One star to tell of a virtuous life,
An eastern sun to welcome the One,
A glinting of white, a life in the light,
May starlight descend to the world of men!
One star in the night for a virtuous life,
The star of Bethlehem.

One mother to bear an eternal son,
A maiden as strong as the road was long,
Strong in belief for the following grief
Love in her soul for a world so cold.
One mother to bear, to love and to share
The one whom death couldn't hold.

One cross to carry, to suffer and bleed
One tree of the wood, to raise the good,
Clothed in white for the looming night,
Nails and death and a final breath.
One cross revealed and a world to heal;
The prince of peace, the hope of light.

One tale to remember this day of days,
One life embraced by a pair of caves,
A hymn of joy and a dirge of loss,
A star to lead and the nails to bleed.
A mother to hold when the tale is told
Of the Stable, the Star and the Cross.

Very beautifully written...you've told the story of our Savior with beautiful poetic words. Words that are inspiring and powerful. Enjoyed this very much, this poem would be a great selection to read at a church Christmas program...again enjoyed this very much. Merry Christmas.
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling
