there is a crack
in things

there lies a
in the way of things

there is this hole
in my heart
where the misery
pours out

where every breath
of free air
is filled with the smell
of souls
around me

their greedy fingers
move the fog like
basement webs
as they tear at my

every step
amongst the dead
every dance
through the drooling
drives ever closer
to red madness

and there is a hole
in my heart
where the misery
pours out

i can hear them
speaking at me
death rattles
i stuff my ears
with memories of
better days
before i begin
to howl back

nothing is right
nothing is clean
nothingness grows
until nothing
becomes all

drown all the children

burn all the women

rape and mutilate the men

nothing is all

nothing is all

it's only when
the dead finally sleep
and the street has been
by a blanket of hush
that i can breathe

the veil above me
unfolds itself
and those that i love
will love
bathe me
in silver warmth

i weep
when the dawn
comes clawing its way
over the carcass
of my world
the light will bring the dead
and drown me
in madness

it is never enough
to fill this hole
in my heart
where the misery
pours from

this is really dark and painful
but there is a love that can fill that hole just as if it had never been there....but you got to have faith and believe in it
enjoyed this real-to-life experience here

Nice to read you again.

"Red madness" captured in painful, heartwrending reality. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

There will always be misery around us and in us. In this world there will be tribulation and suffering. At times it seems the world, and its hoards, is sliding down a waterslide laced with razor blades.

Your write is despondent, almost debilitatingly so, but it reeks with poetic insight. I suggest another hole where the Light of Truth can offset the daily misery and fill the soul with hope.

Light and Wisdom ...

Good Lord! I'm exhausted. However, I can relate. On another note, I've often thought of my mouth as a hole in my soul that is leaking. Go figure.
