How can we deal with our insecurities, when everybody is insecure?

Are There Any Answers?
(Or The Tears Of Life Keep Falling)
by Barbara Lynn Terry

Will I ever be able to smile again,
after I have been used?
Will I ever be able to laugh again,
After I have been abused?

Can I ever hold my head high again,
after I have been hit by a moving train?
Can I ever tell funny jokes too,
when I know people are laughing at me?

Can I ever love from my heart,
when people passionately hate me?
Can I ever hold my head high again,
when people have trampled my worth?

Can I still live even though I am dead inside?
Can I heal even though my soul is scarred?
Can I give help to others,
when help for me is in a fog?

Can I ever be strong again,
When my strength has been zapped?
Can I stand at the edge of precipice,
when vertigo makes me fall?

Can I ...?

You can and you have and you will !!!

As for the poem as a poem, it is wonderful. Heartrending and
painfully honest and very y o u.

LOVE YOU !!

Barbara, Life certainly is not easy and just when we are ready to turn the corner another hindrance pops up. I have found for myself that I ask God for guidance and I try changing my attitude and direction...

You speak of others causing your distress. Maybe you need a change of venue and don't need those kinds of influences to keep you down. Rely on your own strength to move you forward. Don't listen to what others say.

We're all feeling our way through life...sometimes it seems like there are far more peaks than vales....the thing is we're all here for a reason and we search throughout our lifetime seeking answers....lots of food for thought...nicely done...

Sadly, the theme you share through your verses here is a timeless and universal one of this life/world, Barbara. Love, strength, and best wishes to you,
