A Poem dedicated to my daughter....

I look upon your face and I wonder

How I ever gave birth to someone of your strength.

Youíve faced adverse conditions in your life,

Youíve climbed boulders the size of mountains,

But youíve survived when many did not.

You will never know how proud I am of you, my daughter.

You will never know how hard your struggle was to watch.

Iíve cried many a bitter tear

Wanting to take your pain but unable to do so.

Now I cry tears of happiness for I see joy in your life.

I see you with my grandchildren and I feel complete.

You have your life and you are living it to the fullest.

You now see the future and it is good.

You have someone who will never desert you

And loves you forever.

You are at peace for the first time ever.

Oh you will have occasional pebbles,

Possibly a boulder or two

However, none will be as tall as youíve conquered.

So you will climb them with ease.

So be safe my daughter and know I am always there

Iíve stood by your side whether or not you remember.

Iíve always been there, open to you, wanting you

But also knowing you had to kill your own demons.

And that was the hardest part of my love.

So dance my child, dance.

For the world owes you joy and peace.

Look out on your valley and see the world

As it should be, not as it is.

And know I will love you forever, and foreverÖ
