A poem written about a person who makes a decision to abandon a true love and is released to seek out a man that she didnt realize she had in her life already(the one she abandons)...

I hope you find what you are looking for
I’m sorry It was not me
Like a bird who hopes the cage would open
Your life is now set free

Wherever you fly and whoever you find
Perhaps it will make you smile
And give you the hope you so much want
Moreso than what I was worthwhile

I am sorry I tried to be a man that saw
Things you could not see
And tried to pull on the fullness of you
The potential of what you could be

I am sorry that this love wasn’t strong enough
That any breach it could not mend
And keep us together, through all the stormy weather
From the beginning to the end

I am sorry that you are soo egotistical to
Let this all go down the drain
That you cannot humble yourself, and submit yourself
to stop a good thing from becoming in vain

I wish..., thats all I can do
But theres a big lesson I learn in life
That only a woman whose really strong and tough
Would want to be my wife

So I continue down this journey
Maybe, perhaps across this stage
That takes a road at a traveling cost
Until the drama ends the play

Where-ever she is I continue to search
But I feel I cannot find
As long as we speak, I might be weak
Why would you still be on my mind

The man of your dreams, his charm and schemes
He’ll sweep you off your feet
And there you’ll be alone with he
At night you’ll sleep in peace

So I take one last breath, and suck it up
Reality slaps my wrist and hand
You flicked the light, it shines so bright
You never really "believed" I was your man

And oh the birds sing, and nature still calls
And life continues the road on above
But one things for sure, the thoughts are pure
For me you were never in love

So I shut my eyes, I block out all the crys
And I ignore the brokenness that starts
Homeless indeed, wandering in need
Because I could not find a place in your heart

So when you think of your true love
Picture it, clearly as can be
You will be faithful to him, and never leave him
At least not how you did me

So good bye my love, take care my love
At least you are waving that to me
The bird in the cage that was trapped and enraged
Is finally now set free, because she didn’t want to be with me

she didnt realize, I was He
