Based on a Real Life Story of a Man who lost his mind and his hope because of the women he allowed to hurt him and take away his Garden of Eden

The baseball field can be the image of a life

Like a man who swings his bat for the chance to get a wife

Deep in the outfield, the opposers are looking, hoping to catch his ball

Hoping that, his swings in life, will surely cause his fall

The ball is thrown, here she comes, the first woman in his life

But accompanied with drama, instability and a wind full of strife

She hacks at his manhood, causing cracks in his bat

Using the children as a weapon, running her mouth talking back

The house is unstable, the foundation starts to fall

She gets pregnant by another man, STIKE 1 BALL!!!!!

He sucks it up as the crowd roars his name

Mumbles and grumbles as the world sees his shame

He gets in his hitting stance, preparing for the next ball thrown

How the pitcher will throw this next woman?, he really should have known

So the pitcher throws, the man swings, another woman comes in his life

But how the hell he swung at this bad ball to consider her for his wife?

She was already married, but he nor the whole world didn’t even know

A poisonous snake in disguise, come knocking at his door

The fling they have 3 months later a child is conceived

But whose the daddy? I’m not that boys pappy, neither men did believe

Obortion is the option, since it was all a mistake, because the truth was never told

The man with the bat, who got sidetracked, stood and did something courageous and bold

On the day of the babys death, with no hope left, with only a second to go

The man stood up and said, this child will not be made dead, hell no hello no hell no!!!

He volunteered his fatherhood, which was previously taken away

Not ever knowing whose child this is, for many of years and days

The mother was allowed to stay, for the sake of the wellbeing of the boy

But like she was when he met her at the door, she treated him like a toy

The woman finally steps up and says, this child is not yours, I admit it was my ex-husband

Because the night she conceived, its hard to believe, but he too was getting her loving

But the husband denied it, he said its not his, none of that shit is true

Then he said, with sternness and dread, he doesn’t look like me but you.

She slept with men, all inside and out and broke the mans emotions down

But for some strange reason, through all the stormy seasons, the man still stuck around

The Elders kept saying, its not worth it, shes playing, she will never be faithful to you

But the man just stayed, in hell he laid, because he made himself believe its not true

Carrying this child for four years straight, introducing him as his stepchild

Until one day, he got a DNA, dam…..it was my boy all the while…..

The woman was shocked, but for some reason relieved, the child now has his dad

But that did not stop this unfaithful woman from doing all things wicked and bad

She claimed she was changed and wanted to be better, she was sorry for all she had done

She wanted to be,  a wife for he, to give stability to their son

But that spirit arose, in the final throw, all her words untrue

Caught screwing another man, a curved ball plan, another MISS STRIKE 2

So now everyone is silent, no words to say, this man had his baseball career in tact?

But now he is here, defeat is the fear, he’s striking out back to back!!!!

Tears swelling up, as the pitcher gets ready, the man just wants to drop the bat

But in the back of his head, he remember what was said, “never give up on this like that”

So he positions himself, a little harder and sterner, but with a bat that’s not strong at all

Preparing to give all of his strength and might, to knock this ball over the wall

The pitcher throws a straight ball, wow!!! here comes this beautiful young lady

He says in his heart, this is a brand new start, I know this one cannot play me

She had soo much potential, a growing determined spirit, a strong woman indeed

This is the one, the love of his life, the woman that can meet all his wants and needs

She cooked for him, stuck close to him, she was indeed his tantric queen

They looked soo beautiful together, always beautiful weather, they bothe were a solid team

She was exotic, beautiful and erotic, the whole stadium had all eyes on her

Surely this man, with so much weight on his hand, could finally hit a home runner

But there was just one thing, a little slight flaw, noticed as this ball came flying

When asked about small things, unimportant things, this young woman kept on lying

But the man kept on, sticking with her, as he felt she just needed time to grow

But then came a trial, it lasted a short while and some colors started to show

But then things got better, a baby was born, which seemed to mend their rift and rants

But back in his head, his spirit said, somebody else was wearing his pants

The relationship moved on, things got really better, at least that’s how it appeared

But back in his head, the man over and over just said, somethings are still not clear

He prayed to the divine, for the answers to find, so finally he could get some peace

He dreamed and he dreamed, a nightmare it seemed, his answers came while he was asleep

So finally he snapped and approached his love, he needed to know the Truth

"What happened in those days, when we had those rifts and raves, what exactly did you do?"

She exorted “ man, what is exactly your plan, there was nothing against you I’d do”

"I’ve told you 3 years now, theres been no-one else…I have only been with and love you"

But his spirit was strong, he felt she was wrong. The dreams he’d have every night

But she insisted and firmly resisted, its just him having memories of his last wives

He wasn’t having No for an answer, it seemed so crazy, but he was sure the divine knew the real truth

through visions and dreams, nightmares and feems, he already knew what she'd be capable to do

He started talking about the past and what he saw, as the dreams were vivid and clear

And the more he talked, her eyes turned red, and then finally filled up with tears

She started crying out loud, oh my god, what did I do, I never ever meant to hurt you

She couldn’t hold it anymore, she too was a whore, and this is and was her truth

See She had numerous mens numbers, carried condoms in her purse she never wanted to stay home

Doing hidden dates, staying out late and then lie as if nothings going on

She neglected her man, denied him sex, because she said she needed medical help

But the truth be told, that story was then old, she was giving it up to someone else

Her man once had an attack, and fell out on the floor

She left him there, as if she didn’t care,  until the paramedics came to the door

He would write her poems, tell her how much he loved her and she just acted as if they didn’t exist

She stopped showing affection, and went in a different direction, their relationship became amissed

She met this man, at a strip club, where she used to be an exotic dancer

She lost her way, and all her truth, and the devil became her answer

She creeped around and entertained the thoughts of leaving her home and husband

To get the satisfaction, of the club life action, with a nigga who said he was a muslim

Took her outta the club, drove her around, and gave her a few drinks and who else knows

Then took her to a hotel, his dungeon and hell and fucked her out of her clothes

Enough was said, the mans heart just dropped, he couldn’t even see anymore

The one he truly loved, thought was sent from above, was now his 3rd known whore

All of his fame, all of his glamour, all of his hope and dreams

Instantly faded away, and it died that day, he was the only one on his own team

Broken and shattered, his whole spirit battered, there was nothing more he could feel or say

The ball came, he didn’t even swing, it just glided across the Plate,

STRIKE 3 YOU’RE OUT, the game was over…..The man dropped dead that day…

The sadness of being hurt by another we have trusted does more harm than most people see. In a way this prose poem reminds me of two baseball players, one real, one fiction.

Babe Ruth, though he was the unfaithful one, drank, womanized and died with his wife who stayed true to the end.

"The Natural" starring Robert Redford was a movie about a man who left a woman he loved behind and was caught up in the fame of becoming a baseball star. He was taken in by women who had no care for him and was hurt for it. He found later the woman he first loved. He had a son and was happy to give up the fame for them.

I think your poem is a warning for all who can be taken in by the unkind and worldly. Thanks for writing it.
